Beef and Broccoli Udon Noodles

Ingredients

  • 8 oz beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (for marinating beef)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 2 packs fresh or frozen udon noodles
  • 2 green onions, sliced, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

For the Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Beef
    • In a bowl, toss the sliced beef with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Set aside to marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Sauce
    • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, sugar, garlic, and ginger. Set aside.
  3. Cook the Noodles
    • Cook the udon noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  4. Sauté the Beef
    • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Cook the Broccoli
    • In the same skillet, add the broccoli florets with a splash of water. Stir-fry until the broccoli is bright green and tender-crisp, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Combine Everything
    • Add the cooked beef and udon noodles to the skillet with the broccoli. Pour the sauce over everything and toss well to combine, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and well-coated in the sauce.
  7. Garnish and Serve
    • Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
