Air Fryer Apple Crisp with Oatmeal Streusel

Ingredients:

For the Apple Filling:

  • 4 medium apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

For the Oatmeal Streusel Topping:

  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Apple Filling:
    • In a large bowl, toss the apple slices with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour. Make sure the apples are well-coated. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Streusel Topping:
    • In a separate bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cold butter pieces.
    • Use a pastry cutter, fork, or your fingers to mix the ingredients together until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Assemble the Crisp:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
    • Place the prepared apples in a baking dish or air fryer-safe dish that fits in your air fryer basket. Spread the apple mixture evenly.
    • Sprinkle the streusel topping evenly over the apples.
  4. Cook in the Air Fryer:
    • Place the dish in the air fryer basket. Cook at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown and crispy. The exact time may vary depending on your air fryer model, so check for doneness by testing the apples with a fork.
  5. Serve:
    • Allow the apple crisp to cool slightly before serving.
    • Serve warm on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
