Ingredients
- 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
- 1 wheel of Brie cheese (about 8 ounces)
- 2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup for a different twist)
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts, pecans, or almonds, optional)
- Fresh rosemary or thyme (optional, for garnish)
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- Fresh fruit, crackers, or baguette slices (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Puff Pastry:
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to smooth out creases and slightly expand it.
- Place the Brie wheel in the center of the puff pastry.
- Add Honey and Nuts:
- Drizzle the honey over the top of the Brie. If using nuts, sprinkle them over the honey.
- For extra flavor, you can also add a few sprigs of fresh rosemary or thyme on top of the Brie.
- Wrap the Brie:
- Fold the edges of the puff pastry up and around the Brie, pleating as necessary to completely enclose it. You can trim any excess pastry if needed.
- Pinch the seams together to seal.
- Apply Egg Wash:
- Brush the surface of the puff pastry with the beaten egg to give it a golden, glossy finish.
- Bake:
- Place the wrapped Brie on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a lightly greased baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and crispy.
- Serve:
- Let the Baked Brie cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Garnish with additional fresh herbs if desired.
- Serve warm with fresh fruit, crackers, or baguette slices.
